The answer to climate change lies before you and within you. Mostly it comes from leaving nature to its own devices which, of course, calls for an understanding of how nature works. It demands time spent outdoors and close observation of natural processes from an early age. This inevitably leads to an understanding of nature’s brilliance and complexity.
That all things are interconnected is fundamental to ecology and means that quick fixes that seek to modify just one cause of climate change are doomed to failure. Rather, a systems approach is required and happily it now exists. The answers to climate change are demonstrated here in this little nature preserve and are based on the wonderful new research on regenerative methods of land management.
Nature-based methods in plain view here increase the vitality of the soil and its critical microbial inhabitants. The management goal here is an increase in the carbon held deeply in the soil and the improvement of its water holding capacity. Plants will be healthier and wildlife will benefit as well.
