During my tenure with the Mt. Diablo Interpretive Association I had the privilege of becoming acquainted with two very special musicians – Lark and Kris Bowerman – who participated in MDIA’s family campouts. The duo, called Kris & Lark, has produced numerous CDs. One in particular draws attention to the mountain experience. Natural-history based, the CD includes two original melodies specific to Mount Diablo. The one entitled Mount Diablo is a soulful, four-minute celebration of the mountain, and Rock City Ramble uses a doo-wop melody as a metaphor for the wind caves which are its namesake.
